Two weeks ago I was invited to go and see the secret #verycosmo photoshoot and report back all of the backstage action and show a sneak peek of four upcoming trends from Very.co.uk (Tribal, Monochrome, Colour Pop and Pastel) that you will be able to see in Cosmopolitan magazine’s April edition (available in March).
The secret location turned out to be London Zoo which I love and have huge sentiment for. The only downside was that the British weather didn’t deliver and the rain was pouring down all day long, so with a mixture of cold wind this experience was only for the bravest.
I arrived with my battered umbrella at the trailer full of make up and clothes in the early afternoon, so I didn’t see the first two locations, which were in the flamingo enclosure and at the aquarium, but I’ve heard they were great and the flamingos complimented the pastel trend beautifully.
My first location was the Zoo’s carousel with the colourful display and twinkly lights which were a perfect backdrop to show the colour pop trend. Colour blocking is going to be huge this summer and with these summery dresses in bold shades and some statement accessories Very certainly delivers.
Afterwards it was time for lunch and when we finished eating warm soup from the Zoo’s restaurant, I took a little trip to the penguin enclosure where I managed to grab a little selfie with one of them! It was so peaceful and magical out there and for the first time in my life I was there completely alone, so I guess it was worth it to brave the weather for that day.
Then the location moved to the giraffes pavilion and because it was late in the afternoon they were already inside getting ready for a nap. Despite everyone’s efforts and a huge bucket of carrots they were very wary and didn’t want to participate in the shoot that much, but the photographer did manage to get a photo or two. This time it was all about tribal trend with lots of prints and chunky jewellery.
I had a great time at the shoot, it was so nice to meet everyone and go behind the scenes. I literally can’t wait for Cosmopolitan to hit the shelves and I know I already have my eye on a couple of dresses from Very.
