Fashion In Film: Get The Other Woman Look

Normally I get inspiration from seeing what a celebrity is wearing on the red carpet, but I’ve just been inspired to be more adventurous with fashion after watching the film The Other Woman. I really wanted to write a blog so all those of you that haven’t watched the film can see exactly what I mean.

If you take elements from the three main characters, Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, then you will have the perfect wardrobe. Cameron’s character does sharp tailoring and the outfits you’d wear to work, Leslie does feminine and girly weekend wear while Kate Upton has the perfect summer holiday outfits. This may be why the male character in the film sleeps with them all. Together they make the ideal woman. And then you have Nicki Minaj, who plays Cameron Diaz’s secretary in the film, who does bright, bold and beautiful. Watch it and you’ll see exactly what I mean!

I did concentrate on the empowering storyline, honest, but watching the film did make me have some fashion moments. Here are my favourite looks:

Kate Upton’s camisole top and shorts

Seeing Kate (above, far right) in the film was a constant reminder that summer is on its way. She shows that a simple vest and shorts set can look cool. I think it works because it is white. Try Joe Browns Vibrant Versatile Cami and the Love Label Malibu Cheeky Denim Shorts.

Nicki Minaj’s cool colour

Smart and sassy, Nicki lit up the screen with her wisecracks as well as her fashiobn sense. It made me want a multi-coloured bodycon dress immediately! The South shirred gypsy top with the South waffle textured pencil skirt is another smart office look that reminds me of something Ms Minaj’s character would wear.

Leslie Mann’s sophisticated dresses

Leslie was the wife, a bit of a 1950s housewife, so all her outfits were chic and elegant. For a night out, I do love a red dress ! Perhaps try the Savoir pleated bodice dress to recreate the style Leslie’s rocking above…

 Cameron Diaz’s workwear

Cameron’s is the mistress of chic offic office look, so a black dress is essential. At Very, the  French Connection Vivien Panelled Midi Dress is quite similar to what she wears inthe film. And for Kate, on the far right, who has a summery wardrobe, check out the South denim jacket. Kate’s wardrobe really did get me excited about summer!

So, which character’s style do you empathise with the most? To be honest, I just want pieces from all of their wardrobes. I haven’t got this much fashion envy from a film since Sex And The City!
