The TV Bafta Awards made me proud to be British! The Americans may have The Oscars and the Europeans have the Cannes Film Festival, but our TV presenters and actresses looked equally glamorous in full-length maxi dresses as they walked the red carpet outside the five star Grosvenor Hotel on London’s Park Lane. As the weather was fantastic, it was reflected in the celebrities choice of outfits and there was a lot of whites, golds and silvers shining out for the photographers.
Firstly, model Naomi Campbell (above left) went for silver and looked super elegant. Like Kate Moss, models from the 90s just don’t seem to age! But when it came to gold, my favourite gold dress by far was worn by ex Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh. The dark red lipstick adds the finishing touch,I think. Meanwhile, Rochelle Humes (above right) was every inch the yummy mummy in a white and black dress.
But everywhere you looked, there was something – or someone – bright and beautiful to see;
The One Show presenter Alex Jones had a whote dress embellished with silver sequins, that sparkled as she walked. It was really pretty! But you don’t have to have lots of embellishment and ruffles to look good, as Laura Whitmore shows it works equally well if you keep things simple in a plain white dress. The theme of the night was light colours, with the celebs wearing the theme different ways but all looking lovely.
Liberty X stars Michelle Heaton and Jessica Pietersen are further evidence of this. Michelle’s gone for the ruffles while Jessica’s kept it simple. But I like both of their dresses. What do you think?
