While the summer weather in Britain is on and off at the moment, we can add some brightness to our lives with what we wear. As Very held it’s third VIP event at the Vinyl Factory in London’s Soho, the bright colours and bold prints took my breath away! And I wasn’t the only one. Tons of style bloggers and ex Made in Chelsea star turned model Millie Mackintosh poured over the best picks of the summer collections from Love Label and Definitions.
Millie, may look very slim but she does love her food. I spotted her nibbling on the mini burgers and mini pizzas served at the event. But then she does have a reason for needing to stay current with food trends as well as fashion trends as it was announced today that she will be taking part in Celebrity Masterchef 2014. Millie is working on her own clothing line as well – watch this space! – and she has her own range of strip eyelashes. She’s not stopped working since leaving Made in Chelsea. which is impressive! As well as Millie’s outfit, my attention was caught by several cool key pieces available now at Very for summer such as this gorgeous white Love Label lace playsuit.
Everywhere I looked there was something cute and colourful. I liked the bright blue dress and the semi-floral dress at the front. Florals are definitely big this season!
In one respect it was just like a Kim Kardashian party as there was a photobooth. I couldn’t resist getting in with fashion bloggers From Frumpy To Funky and Prince Cassius. My pink top is the Love Label rose burnout t-shirt.
Nails Inc provided a bit of pampering for the VIPs on the night, showing off their summer pastel colours of light blues and light pinks and mint green.
There was a henna stand so guests could add a finishing touch to their outfits. The artists were so talented matching the prints on the outfits to the tattoo artwork.
But we all know that it’s the music that really makes a party so just like there was fashion to suit all tastes, there was a silent disco where you could choose the soundtracks – chart vs old school. I kept switching between both as I couldn’t decide. The pink headphones matched my top!
The combination of bright clothes, music and summery nail varnishes meant I left the event with a big grin on my face. There’s no point in waiting until the sun comes out to wear bright clothes. Just wearing something colourful lifts your mood and I think it lifts your skin tone so you look more radiant even if you’re not feeling it. No matter what, let’s make summer bright – what do you think?
