Festival fever has gripped Very HQ and along with the usual questions about which bands are top of the must-see list, which celebs we are hoping to snap and what’s better, wellies or jellies? We’ve also been having a few stresses around what to pack. Even though it’s four days of pretty much roughing it there are sure to be plenty of snaps to capture every moment – great for the memories, not so good for the self-esteem! So how do you handle it? Well worry not festival goers, here’s exactly what you need to pack to ensure you look, feel and simply are fabulous all weekend long.
Travel size toiletries are a complete life saver when you want to pack light. Spray deodorant, body spray and dry shampoo will all easily last for four days. A handy tube of CC cream is also a much better move than a make up bag full of contouring powders and heavy foundation and will give you a glow to mask any signs of late night partying.
Keep It Clean
There’s no getting away from it, festival fields are pretty dirty and we’re not just talking mud. Anti bacterial handwash is a MUST. Always take your own toilet roll as well – everyone will be your new best friend! Take face wipes too and try to remove any make up before you collapse into your sleeping bag – your skin will thank you for it the morning after.
Be Kind To Your Skin
I know, it’s the UK and we’re all packing macs and wellies in preparation for the traditional downpour. However there is always a chance that the sun will shine and if it does you’ll be glad you packed the suncream. You’re outdoors all day and nothing ruins a festival more than sunburn, so slather plenty on and don’t forget to reapply during the day. Tea tree is also a must as you can dab it on any blemishes trying to make an appearance to keep your skin looking lovely. It also works really well on itchy insect bites!
Get Some Sleep
At some point you will need to recharge your batteries, but this isn’t easy if the tent next door is having an all night rave. If you really do need to get some shut eye and can’t stomach the thought of joining the party, remember to pack a sleeping mask and ear plugs. Also useful if your tent mate turns out to be a snorer…
And a few extra life savers…
First aid stuff might not scream festival fun but you’ll be thankful for those plasters and painkillers when the time comes. Take some aloe vera too for any sunburn and antihistamines incase you get an unexpected hayfever attack – it’s pretty hard to party on when your nose is streaming!
Enjoy! Love Aimee x
