Let the lips do the talking! That’s exactly what our colour pop is all about simple make up with pops of vibrant colours. Great no matter what season or the occasion! The Very Beauty Team were lucky enough to go behind the scenes of a recent photo shoot and get all the insider info on how to create this gorgeous look.
This look is all about letting our Lips and Manicure Pop, so when it came to applying the models base the MUA wanted a natural flawless finish to let the other products stand out. For this look Max Factor Facefinity All Day Foundation and Bourjois Blush Crème Tropic Coral work wonderfully together, giving just enough highlight without distracting from everything else. A quick swipe of eye brow gel was taken through the brows to add some definition; Rimmel Brow Gel is great for touch ups on the go.
For the eyes you need a simple statement eyeliner flick. If your new to applying eyeliner start from the centre of your eye and wing out, as you become more confident you can start moving towards your inner eye. Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner is perfect for this look; its super pigmented and doesn’t budge. Next up its time for lashing of mascara, Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara is great for opening the eye and making normal lashes super.
Now on to the colour pops! For a popping pout take a vibrant matte lipstick and apply all over the lips. *TOP TIP For extra precision and an even stronger look you might want to line the lips in a similar colour first, this not only makes the look more dramatic you can see where you need to fill in. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Pink Pong is great for this look, as it has the ease of a lip gloss but the finish of a lipstick. For the nails the manicurist used the cult classic, Nails Inc Baker Street. Not only does this make an amazing contrast to the pink lipstick, Beyoncé has been caught wearing Baker Street too!
The extra glam factor from this look comes from the hair, were talking big volumous curls! If this is the look you want to achieve we recommend you use Babyliss products (the stylist on the day did). Depending on what kind of product you prefer we would advise using either the Babyliss Curl Secret or the Babyliss Big Hair. *TOP TIP* Apply a light spritz of shine spray once you have curled your hair, making hair look healthier and glossy.
And that’s all you need to create this colour pop look. Don’t be scared to experiment with this trend, you can even try different colours. Just remember to keep everything else natural and focus on the key areas you want to pop. Why not recreate this look for yourself at home? If you do we would love to see it!
