Fearne Cotton: AW14 Collection

OK as you’re going to read from this post, I guess it’s fair to say that I’m in love with Fearne Cotton’s AW14 collection, exclusive to Very.co.uk!

From two piece sets, jumpers and coats, to casual everyday trousers and retro frocks, her latest collection has it all with at least one or two pieces for everyone (I say at least, but I’m totally lying – you’ll want them all)!

First things first…my must-have pieces. I absolutely fell head over heels for this jersey ribbed long sleeve top and matching midi pencil skirt. The darker yellow hue is perfect for the autumn, while jersey fabric is soft and flattering keeping you warm and sleeking your curves for the ultimate in retro daytime dressing.

Next up is a must come the colder months, a coat and this checked wonder is my go-to cover up. It has everything – a winter-inspired tartan pattern with a predominant cobalt blue palette and single button closure for a look that fuses 60s edge with contemporary city styling.

Moving on to dresses and these two beauties will work for you day and night!

With similar prints, the full sleeve dress to the left features a little sixties swing which you can’t see due to Fearne’s relaxed, lounge pose. The darker floral and leaf print is a lesson in Dark Blooms that this season is becoming synonymous with, while full sleeves make it a transitional wonder that blends autumn into winter seamlessly. I love Fearne’s patent ankle boots with this dress – together they clash girly with edge.

To the right is a colour-popping little tea dress with plenty of Fearne’s kooky attitude. The colourful print becomes the focus against a navy backdrop, while the nipped in waist adds shape and shorter sleeves make it perfect for sunny autumn days. Fearne’s wearing hers with ankle socks and her peep toe platform heels. I’d throw on a leather biker jacket on cooler days to mix up retro with contemporary.

Moving onto a more casual affair, Fearne mixes chic daytime pieces with flirty evening fancies for a real nod to retro dressing.

I absolutely love her slim leg cropped trousers worn with boyish flats for that effortless girl about London cool that so many try and achieve, but fall slightly short of the mark. I unfortunately couldn’t get away with these pants, but think the style and colour are beautiful! As for the lace top – it’s an incredibly versatile piece that will work with your daytime ensembles as well as parties come evening.

Next on the list is the printed panel lace dress that again is infused with Fearne’s undeniable love of kooky design. Worn here with her ankle strap platform shoes and pop socks (camera optional), she nails the effortless laid back vibe of city styling.

Pairing knitwear with patent leather is not high on my priorities list I have to admit, but Fearne shows you how to rock the cool and casual look as only she knows how. This eyelash spot jumper has something more 90s about it, but is given the same retro treatment in a pair of lace up brogues and leather shorts.

OK, so to recap – this is possibly one of the most desired collections I’ve ever seen from Fearne (admittedly they just keep getting better). It has a mix of everything from colour palettes, styles, cuts and fabrics that is more than enough for any fashion forward girl. Currently in my shopping basket are the check coat and full sleeve swing dress…just waiting for payday to hurry up!
