I love London Fashion Week. I love watching the trends on the catwalk, I love seeing who’s sitting FROW and I love the after-parties. Oh yes, I love the parties!
You never really know what to expect but you can guess some things based on what went on in previous seasons. So as London Fashion Week starts again on 20 February, when we’ll be seeing the AW15 trends, I’ve had a recap of my top 5 highlights of LFW SS15. This enables me to forecast the 5 things I’m excited about in the next few days. I hope you get as excited as me after reading, reminiscing and looking forward!
(1) The Gym Chic Trend
The SS15 shows were the first time sportswear looked stylish. Before, workout wear was not cool. I like the way it took the stigma out of staying in shape.
(2) Tuxedos – suited and booted in 2015
Talk about power dressing! I loved how fierce Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss looked at the Burberry show in suits.
(3) Ellie Goulding’s Lovely Leather
London Fashion Week was a good time for Ellie Goulding as she got together with Dougie Poynter from McFly and she showed off her sophisticated side. Before this she famously wore as little as possible on stage and although she still does that occasionally it was nice to see her look feminine in a leather skirt.
(4) The co-ordinates trend
I really liked the prints that went down the catwalk in SS15 and if there’s one thing better than prints it’s double prints with co-ordinating tops and trousers. Do you agree?
Now this year I’m excited about
(1) New faces like Immy Waterhouse
Each year there’s a hot new girl and this year it’s set to be Suki Waterhouse’s younger sister Imogen. Let’s see if she lives up to the hype!
(2) Elle Style Awards
Last year, Suki Waterhouse won an Elle Style Award for Best Model. It’s one of the most star-studded events of London Fashion Week and also one of the most fun parties and I’ll be there to report on all the gossip on 24 February.
(3) Hunter Original Fashion Show
I love it when I see clothes and shoes that I can buy at Very so I’m super excited about the Hunter Original fashion show as these are on sale. The brand is headed up by Stella McCartney’s husband Alasdhair Willis so we’re guaranteed to see celebs there.
(4) Mulberry Fashion Show
Th Mulberry show has been one of my fave LFW shows since dogs walked down the red carpet in outfits that matched their owners dresses. I hope this happens again!
(5) The Matthew Williamson show
Matthew’s been in fashion for years, dahlings, so the Front Row at his shows have celebrities sitting shoulder to shoulder. I always get inspired by his use of colour so I’m very much looking forward to seeing how he tops it all on 22 February.
How do you feel about London Fashion Week now? What are you most wanting to see? Let me know and I’ll work extra hard to get some gossip for you.
