The floral trend is back, judging by what the celebrities are wearing right now. Every year, the Cheslea Flower show in London triggers a change in celebrity mindsets. Until recently, we saw a lot of lace maxi dresses, golds and block colours at the major showbiz events and parties. But prints are making a return!
At the British soap awards and the Cannes film festival as well as out and about in London, I keep seeing celebrities in florals. The fact that the Chelsea flower show is on at the same time is surely no coincedence.
My top 5 favourite celebrity florals are:
Stephanie Waring at the British Soap Awards
Stephanie looked stunning in her yellow floral maxi dress at the biggest party in the soap calendar. She’s had some love life dramas recently, but this was her way of showing that she is strong and confident. I think it works, don’t you?
Sienna Miller in Cannes
Sienna is a judge at the film festival so she needs about 3 outfits a day – one for press conferences, one for parties and one for after parties. This dress that she wore for a meeting on the beach is similar to the Lipsy printed strappy dress.
Salma Hayek in Cannes
Salma worked the timeless combination of black and red at a daytime film screening. I really like this look as black is slimming but the flowers brighten up what would normally be a dress that faded into the crowds. I’ve seen some similarly multi-coloured dresses at Very – you could wear them from day to night.
Olivia Palermo in London
Olivia Palermo rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to fashion so when she wore floral trousers to shop in London, it showed that the trend has reached all levels. If you like this look then the South printed trousers are a good match. You can be as bold (like Olivia) or as basic as you want with the tops as the trousers say it all.
Poppy Delevigne in Cannes
There are florals and then there are FLORALS and Poppy had the look nailed in Cannes. Probably sick of being in her younger sister Cara Delevingne’s shadow, Poppy was dressing to have all eyes on her. That’s the beauty of florals – you can really have some fun in them.
Are you ready to embrace some colour? If not, what’s stopping you?
