I knew V would be glamorous and this year it was especially so thanks to the blazing sunshine on Saturday in Chelmsford. The Sunday was not so great, which meant the weekend was a great overview of festival fashion as we had some celeb inspiration for hot weather outfits and examples of wet weather fashion too.
Let’s start with the summery outfits as there was more gossip from the Saturday. The hot weather made everyone more cheerful and willing to chat. Also, it was interesting to see that there was a strong white shorts and white dress trend on the Saturday. When it’s warm, we need white in our life if we want to look like the stars!
Millie Mackintosh has been working hard recently as her first book is due to be published on 10 September. She said it’s a book about her health and wellness tips, so she has to be a good example, However, she does allow herself treats 20% of the time, or her husband Professor Green will get annoyed. How could anyone get angry with Millie when she looks so pretty?
The Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren boyfriend cut off shorts and River Island oriental long printed kimono are great ways of stealing her V look.
TOWIE’s Georgia Kousoulu and Chloe Lewis
White was also the colour for these reality stars with Georgia showing off her tan in a white crop top and Chloe channeling boho chic in a white day dress. Unlike some of their Essex castmates these girls don’t have their own fashion collections yet, but both are very ambitious – it could only be a matter of time.
Chloe’s dress was similar to one Pixie Lott wore (see below). I think the Resort crochet cut out boho dress from Very is similar to them both – what do you think?
Pixie has only recently got back from America, where she tells me she’s been working on a new album. Exciting! It’s about time we had more Pixie pop in our lives. She’s certainly brought back the relaxed LA vibes with her in a floaty white dress.
From X Factor winner and pop star to West End muscial actress, Alexandra Burke does it all! I asked what was next and she told me she’s loving the theatre but she wouldn’t rule out releasing more music…on her own terms. Alexandra is one strong, feisty lady and the gladiator sandals really suited her. They reminded me of the Carvela Kiki knee high gladiator sandals.
Ellie performed on the wet Sunday in Chelmsford, and the fact her shift dress and ankle boots are all black is like she is mourning the sunshine! She was loved up with her boyfriend Dougie Poynter who only left her side just before she was due on stage (when this pic was taken). When are the wedding bells?! Soon, I think.
Rochelle and Marvin also attended for the day on Sunday, but Rochelle looked stunning despite the wet weather. A floppy hat is a must for rainy days at a festival, but what I really liked was the fringe skirt, which reminds me a bit of the River Island PU fringed PU mini skirt. Rochelle’s actual skirt is from her range for Very, and will be on site in September! Rochelle’s busy with X factor auditions as she’s the new host of the Xtra Factor and although I sympathise that she has so much on right now, I am looking forward to seeing more of her style on Saturday night TV.
When it came to stage outfits, I had to admire Ella Eyre’s latex jumpsuit. It made me think Ella is really trying to give Beyonce a run for her money and I’ll certainly be looking at Ella’s fashion choices more closely in future. A jumpsuit is always a way to stand out but latex takes it to another level.
Paloma, on the other hand, stood out for being super glam. If you have your own tour bus and backstage area then you clearly can get away with wearing a black dress but you would need someone to hold an umbrella over you!
Who do you think looked the best?
