The GQ Men Of The Year Awards is always one of the most star-studded events of September. Now in its 18th year, more and more celebrities fly in from all around the world for it, from Hollywood star Will Ferrell to LA based singer Lionel Richie to Monaco based F1 racer Lewis Hamilton.
But what do you wear to a black tie event like the GQ Awards, which took place in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden? This is how the celebs did it, starting with the gorgeous girlies.
Pixie Lott
A little black bodycon dress is a great choice for a black tie event. Pixie was there with her man Oliver Cheshire and they looked very loved up.
Amber Le Bon
Wearing a trouser suit is always a risk and a white one more so. However, Amber pulls off the tailored look, don’t you think?
Daisy Loiwe
If you want to stand out, a red dress is a great option and it contrasts nicely with Daisy’s raven hair. Daisy’s young free and single – for now.
Emilia Clarke
The Game of Thrones actress also wore red, but a red mini dress and looked fresh and cute. She won Woman of The Year so she must be doing something right.
Jourdan Dunn
This was probably the most daring dress of the night with side boob, a side split and it was backless too. The silver shoes were pretty cool too.
Tanya Burr
Vlogger Tanya has a great collection of flattering dresses and I particularly liked the print of this mini dress. Don’t her and Jim make a gorgeous couple?
Jodie Kidd
Jodie may have lots out on the role of Top Gear host to Chris Evans, but she shows she has plenty of other options as she’s looking fab in her black maxi dress. She confessed to me she might do a show to rival Top Gear.
Kate Moss
Kate didn’t attend the main event, but couldn’t resist a party and went to the Chiltern Firehouse for the after party. Obviously, it was a little black dress for Party Queen Kate. She doesn’t mess around.
Sam Smith
Sam won outstanding solo artist of the year and when he was collecting his award he said he was just happy he didn’t have to lie any more. He lied for a whole year about his new role singing the new James Bond theme tune.
Tinie Tempah and Lionel Richie
Tinie presented Lionel with his icon award and Lionel got emotional on stage. Bless.
Lewis Hamilton
As Lewis went up to collect his sportsman award, you couldn’t help but notice his bleached blond hair. Now he’s single, he seems to be going wild!
