Very AW15 Home Edit: Cosy Wool

As summer draws in and the cooler months begin to fall, our natural instinct is to hibernate in our cosy homes. Make a warm welcome to our AW trend, Cosy Wool, that’s influenced by our need to stay snug indoors and relax in complete comfort.

A modern take on the Hunting Lodge look of seasons past, this edit sees a transition towards contemporary country living. Picture quaint country hotels and cottages way up in the Highlands, coated in snow, to cuddling up in front of roaring open fires, all of these wonderful wintry pleasures are captured in this home collection.

Rustic furniture, plenty of plaid fabrics and soft blankets are key to achieving this style. A continuation of the popular tartan trend, arm chairs are upholstered in warm olive tones, like the Palmer Accent Chair featured below, adding Scottish heritage to your living space. Tweed-effect textures complement check patterns, try the Quin Sofabed that works a simple Scandinavian structure and wooden splade legs.Wool-living-2Scatter clusters of cushions and throws across the room, we love chunky knits layered with bobbly popcorn textures. Wild country life also feature on cushion covers, from foxes to deer and pheasants, while statement stag heads decorate the walls, nodding to the Hunting Lodge theme.

Lighting flashes back to retro styles, with hanging fixtures that are made from natural materials. The Dylan caged copper pendant gives off a warm glow, while the spiky hedgehog lampshade brings the wild habitat home.

Claret tones (think apples and plum shades) combine with latte, browns and mulberry to bring warmth to your interiors when it gets dark outside. The Orkney range of sofas, rugs and stools offers all these cosy, classic colours.wool-bedroomTraditional tartan covers bedspreads with the cosy Bennett range, making one of the most important rooms in the house even more inviting. Choose bedroom furniture in a light oak colour, like the Anais bed frame with its spindle headboard and skinny legs, with co-ordinating cabinets and cupboards from the London collection.

Open up your doors to the stunning nature reserve with a kooky squirrel light, while this cute Casa table lamp, with its shiny ceramic finish, softly and beautifully illuminates your space, making you feel right at home.

Continue the oak colour scheme into the kitchen with the Primo extended dining table that works a chunky, contemporary design. Add a modern contrast with cool black chairs from the Ace range that also feature Scandinavian spindle posts and tapered legs for a traditional twist.
