Breakfast At Tiffany’s Press Night: Theatre Outfits

Pixie Lott has taken on the role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast At Tiffany’s on the West End stage and any new start calls for a celebration. As Pixie invited her friends and the world’s media to the official press night, she hosted a party in the bar afterwards.

Before coming to the West End stage, the show was tested on audiences around the UK and toured the country for a night or two at various venues. It was a sell-out everywhere, so there was a lot of hope and confidence for it’s West End transfer and Pixie hasn’t disappointed. She’s very sultry as Holly and when she sings, everyone in the audience sits still and stares.

Going to the theatre is always a treat, but sometimes it’s hard to work out what to wear. The goal should be to look sophisticated but you still want to look glamorous in case you have dinner or drinks after the show. As the stars at Pixie’s party did just that, it’s helpful to look at them for inspiration about what we can all wear to the theatre this summer:

Pixie Lott

It’s Pixie’s show and she made sure that everyone spotted her in a gorgeous sequin dress, that she matches with a gold bag. She knows she looks fantastic and that gives her confidence to pose. She doesn’t look at all stressed or nervous, even though she’s the host. When you look good, you can handle anything.

Jenni Falconer

Jenni looked absolutely incredible in a multi-colour jumpsuit. The strapless top shows off her figure to perfection. When a jumpsuit fits as well as this, it can look smarter than a dress. Plus people stop and stare as it’s more unique than a dress.

Rachel Stevens

Rachel looked lovely and feminine with a black going out top and black tailored trousers. Rachel is a mum of two and this is a very practical – but still pretty – outfit which you can wear with children or on a night out on your own. What do you think?

Jessica Wright

Now she’s left TOWIE, Jess seems to have grown into her own style and looked gorgeous in a red midi dress. She’s not flashing too much flesh, but the colour is fantastic so she grabs attention. This is classy enough for the theatre and you could wear it out afterwards – it’s very versatile.

Made In Chelsea’s Nicola Hughes

MiC’s Nicola isn’t from Chelsea and is from Northern Ireland, but she made love-rat Alex Mytton fall for her and then became an essential part of the storyline – clever girl! In a red mini dress like this, you can persuade anybody to do anything and it looks beautiful with strappy sandals. You could wear this to a club and to the theatre.

Are you going to any shows this year?

Who do you think wore the best ‘theatre outfit’?
