Finding Nemo was one of the most popular children’s films ever so the premiere for it’s sequel Finding Dory had lots of celebs fighting for tickets. Ellen De Generes – who voices the character of Dory – hung out with British TV presenters, sports personalities and singers. The movie really does appeal to everyone.
However, as it’s primarily aimed at children, the premiere took place on a Saturday morning, so we got to see celebs wearing smart casual clothes. Usually, we only see celebrities in glamorous evening-wear at premieres, so it was interesting to see what they wear at the weekend and get some inspiration. It was a warm day so pastels seemed to be the trend on the carpet outside the cinema, which was blue instead of red to reflect the colour of the sea.
Let’s have a look at the celebs in their pretty pastels:
Alesha looked stunning in a pink coat, which meant she could keep the rest of her outfit simple with jeans and a white t-shirt. All you need is one statement coat and then wardrobe essentials and it looks cool, clean and crisp with virtually no effort at all.

Ellen went for a similar look, except she had a statement blazer rather than a coat. Florals are always good in summer and made her look bright and alert, which she needs right now given that she’s got to go around the World, having premieres in different cities. If you’re tired, a pastel top or jacket can disguise it.
Michelle looked fresh and summery in a gorgeous yellow skirt. It’s loose and made from a lovely cotton material so it will keep her as cool as she looks and she’ll feel comfortable in it. You don’t need to suffer to look fabulous in summer. The more comfortable you are, the more confident you’ll be.
The Olympic medal winning swimmer looked really feminine in a blue midi dress, which almost matched the blue carpet. Blue is a lovely colour for summer as it’s bold and suits both brunettes and blondes. Rebecca’s midi dress would also work well at a summer wedding.
The One Show TV presenter looked pretty in a green day dress. It’s super casual and you could wear this from day to night. It would also look fantastic with flip flops for a picnic in the park as well as with heels for slightly more formal occasions. I love a dress that’s versatile!
Fleur has her own image and she doesn’t compromise. I admire that because you don’t have to wear pastels if you have an image that you want to maintain. Fleur’s image is that she’s a performer and a risk-taker and so she wore white ripped jeans and a white top. What do you think?
And who do you think looked the best in their smart casual outfits at the daytime premiere?
