Celeb Style At Burberry Fragrance Launch

Wearing a gorgeous perfume makes us all feel fantastic in just the same way that a lovely dress does. When you smell good, you feel confident and ready for anything. The celebrities realise the importance of this as they’re always launching their own fragrances or modelling for a designer perfume brand and now Downton Abbey and Cinderella actress Lily James is the face of a new Burberry scent.

To celebrate her new role, Lily hosted a party for all her celebrity friends at the five star London hotel, Claridges. As the scent was taken care of, the celebrities only had to make an effort with their outfits. They all looked stunning and the overall vibe was classy and sophisticated, reflecting the fact that it was held in one of London’s poshest hotels. The trend was for classic colours of black, white and red, which suited the formal occasion.

Lets have a closer look at the best celebrity outfits for some fabulous formal wear style inspiration:

Lily James

When it’s your party, you need to look and feel fantastic and Lily did just that in a black bardot midi dress with classic black heels. This is a feminine and elegant look. It’s a lot classier than a mini dress but not as prim as a maxi dress and the shape suits her perfectly as it emphasises her slim waist. If you want to make a sophisticated impression then a midi dress is the ideal choice.

Jenna Coleman

Jenna, who we’re soon to see tons more of on our TV screens as a young Queen Victoria, also wore a black midi dress. There’s definitely a trend going on there. However, hers was more of a party dress due to it’s daring plunge neckline. It shows she’s classy but she has a fun side. The formal black jacket is a good shout as it means that she can cover up if she feels like she’s flashing too much flesh for the occasion. This jacket would look equally good with jeans as it does her dress.

Gemma Chan

There’s nothing like wearing red to a party to get noticed and I love that Gemma’s is scarlet red. It’s like she’s loud and proud of that! However, it’s still appropriate for a formal occasion as its a maxi length so it’s a conservative shape but a super cool colour.

Cressida Bonas and Clara Paget

Prince Harry’s ex girlfriend went for a more striking monochrome look with slim leg black trousers and a crisp white shirt. This is formal wear with attitude. And she wasn’t the only one at the party to do this as stylist and TV presenter Clara Paget went for a trousers and shirt look too. As both accessorised with sky high heels, they looked sleek and in control. What do you think of this look?

Laura Carmichael

Lily’s Downton Abbey co-star went for a simple black top like the rest of the guests but she added a statement green skirt. Sometimes it is fun to do things a little differently. She knew people would be watching as its the first public appearance she’s made with fellow Downton cast mate Michael Fox and so she put on a show with her vibrant skirt. I like her way of thinking.

Are you going to any fancy parties soon? Which celebs outfit would you prefer to wear?
