TV Choice Awards: Copy The White Dress Trend

The TV Choice Awards signify the end of summer and the start of the Autumn party season. As all the new series of shows like Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor and Great British Bake Off start in the Autumn, it makes sense to do it at this time of year when TV feels really exciting and fresh.

It’s also a fabulous excuse for the celebrities to dress up and catch up on all the summer gossip. As there haven’t been too many parties over the summer, everyone makes an effort to show that they’re ready to go back to work and dress to impress. It’s a great indication of what party outfits are cool for Autumn and one trend did emerge from the night as several celebrities wore white dresses.

Lydia Rose Bright looked feminine and pretty in a white lace dress while Holly looked like she meant business in a white midi dress that’s perfect for both work and play. Katie Price showed off her curves in a bodycon maxi dress and put on a pout for the cameras as she looked great and she knew it.

Seeing all the stars in their white dresses shows there are several ways to wear white dresses and that everyone can wear the trend as there’s a style to suit all personalities and body types. The benefits of a white dress are that it really enhances any tan that you’ve picked up over the summer months and it’s so bright that you stand out for the right reasons if others are wearing darker dresses.

Let’s start with Holly’s smart white dress, which has long sleeves to keep you comfortable now the nights are getting colder. The V by Very fluted sleeve dress makes sleeves it’s unique feature and those make your arms look slimmer as they flare out. Alternatively, the Rochelle Humes tuxedo blazer dress shows a hint of cleavage like Holly’s dress and it’s sharp lines make you look fierce and powerful.

Or if it’s a maxi dress you’re after then you need one with a bit of detail. Katie Price’s had an open back detail, but it’s also nice to have the detail on the front so that everyone spots it, just like you see on the V by Very Aztec embroidered maxi dress.

Or maybe you want a white dress that has stand-out material as well as a vibrant colour. Lydia Bright’s dress had a gorgeous colour and texture and reminds me of the Miss Selfridge lace cold-shoulder pencil dress. The lace will feel lovely next to your skin and you’ll feel stunning when you look at yourself in the mirror.

Which white dress do you like the most?
